Ｖａｐｏｒｗａｖｅ  "is a microgenre of electronic music and an Internet meme that emerged in the early 2010s.The music typically features a fascination with 1980s and 1990s styles of mood music such as smooth jazz, elevator music, R&B, and lounge music, often sampling or manipulating tracks via chopped and screwed techniques and other effects. The subculture surrounding vaporwave is often associated with an ambiguous or satirical take on consumer capitalism and popular culture, and tends to be characterized by a nostalgic or surrealist engagement with the popular entertainment, technology and advertising of previous decades. I love this genre in every shade of it, so I decided to scout the grid and see what it has to offer. Here's a small list of nostalgic, vaporwavey places that will melt your little chilly hearts.


Axolotl is a small ..room. Filled with pink, neons, lounges, retro designs and nostalgic posters. Above all, the iconic "We are the dead" laser writing. Cosy and private. Small but amazing.

::: b E T A m A X ::: open stage is a small pinky club, a reminder of an endless summer in the sunset
of Miami with a cocktail in one hand and some cocaine in the other. Stroboscopic lights and retrovawe decorations make it a special place, where a big wall of old tv make it wonderfully techno-nostalgic. A must see!

C L U B   ' 9 5 , like the name suggests, is mostly dedicated to the old operating system nostalgia. This place is a bit wider and features mostly blue and geometric visuals, even if we don't miss the usual classic statues and screens. I love the sarcastic BSOD as backdrop and the overall lightness of this place, which is less mesh-oriented, less "elegant" than the others.

The Neon Joint is a private collection, featuring two rooms full of neons, vapor art, oldies and retrogaming objects. The atmosphere is more of a garage filled with everything you could fit into, but it's still cosy and peaceful. A nice place to chat or..do other things, like the owner says: "retro aesthetic hangout to blog, idle, sex, take photos, do whatever. Friendly to all folks & species. "

 DROSS SANDBOX Vaporwave Last but not least, an impressively atmospheric sandbox, where
you can sit lounge and build in perfetcly retro style! This place is mostly dark, neon nightly decorated, and somehow resembles the inside of an old videogame, with some Tron vibes. The sky is absolutely stunning!

SynthetiK BunkeR : Industrial Club

I love EBM music and lately has been hard to find a decent club to hang out in, since most of them have closed or offer a very poor schedule with boring music.
I usually spend one day or two every now and then trying to find a new place where I can listen to my fave tunes, with no gestures no exploders no people with blings and totally unrelated outfits, no invasive hosts, etc... and I finally found an interesting one!!
SynthetiK BunkeR is a very cool and big club, with regular DJs and a very interesting schedule, nice people and a stunning location.
Nothing more, nothing less. Wanna spend some nice hours with good music? Pay them a visit!

UNIA

Yeah, that's me, I'm that voyeur XD

Guys at MadPea got us used to big, awesome and complex games over the years. And UNIA is none less than this: a game. Set out in what looks like a cross between one of Fallout's cities and some sort of  desert-rockabilly version of Twin Peaks, you won't find anything "normal" in this place.
I won't spoil most of the fun out of it, just follow this simple advice: nothing here is casual and every detail is awesome and possibly important.

As a big fan of the long-lost The Mother Road's sim, I'm extremely happy that this place is now up and visitable (even if you don't take part in the game, as long as you don't spoil it for players, you're free to wander around and take piccies) and I hope it'll stick around as long as possible.

So,  wether you're just having a stroll, or wandering in search of that perfect shot of your life..or maybe trying to win the prizes of the game, take some time to have a closer look at all the small cottages and containers because they're sure to hide good surprises.
Wanna take part in the game? Just look at the entrance and get your hud with instructions: like every other MadPea production, playing costs a bit but everything you find is free. You also get an outfit in different shades, depending on the "package" you choose.
